Presented in partnership with Filipino BC, this gathering bridges traditions of remembrance — from Mexico’s Día de los Muertos to the Philippines’ Undas (All Saints’ and All Souls’ Day) — both celebrating love, memory, and connection with those who have passed.
Join us for a heartfelt event beginning with a musical tribute by Las Primas, performing La Cantada, an ancestral practice where singers share Alabanzas or Alabados—songs of praise dedicated to honoring the deceased.
After the performance, take part in our community storytelling circle at the Day of the Dead altar. Together, we will place photos and ofrendas (offerings), share stories of our loved ones, and reflect on the cultural significance of remembrance across generations.
This gathering is a space of both remembrance and celebration—honouring the lives of those who came before us and keeping their memory joyfully alive within our community.
Schedule:
Snacks and refreshments will be provided!
Ofrenda Instructions: Please bring a photo of your loved one and a small ofrenda—a personal or symbolic item representing something they loved in life (such as figurines, artwork, or plants). To preserve the altar through November 3, please avoid bringing real food items due to concerns about mice and other animals.
